Kyal Thornton
Founder | Lead Licensed Building Designer | Feng Shui Master
Kyal brings a wealth of experience with over 20 years experience as Building Designer on the Gold Coast.  
Starting out his drafting career as Junior Draftsman working on the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Center, to working as senior draftsman for some well known Architectural firms, on high-rises and high-end Homes across Australia.  
For several years Kyal was the Design Manager for one of Australia's largest Publicly listed Property Developers.
In 2018 Kyal went out on his own as Kyal Thornton Building Designs with projects Australia wide. With projects ranging from Tiny Homes & Cabins to Large High end Custom homes and renovations, to Retail & Hospitality Fit-out designs.
Kyal is passionate about sustainable building design with positively designed environments that promote good chi and functionality for the occupants.
In 2024 Kyal became a Feng Shui Master.

Other:
Before becoming a Building Designer, Kyal was a Chef on the Gold Coast for 8 years.  
From 2007 to 2014 Kyal was co-owner of a large coffee shop on the Gold Coast with 12 staff.
2021 - Australia Day, Kyal was the Patrol Captain (PC) on duty at Tallebudgera Surf Lifesaving Club, In one of the 6 rescues Kyal's team performed that day, the team was responsible for saving 7 lives in one rescue, with one of those rescued requiring the De-Fib.  Thankfully everyone survived that day. Kyal and his team were awarded rescue medals at Local, State and Federal Government levels for that rescue.  Kyal was also selected by Tennis Australia to have his voice used for the "Hawk-eye" line calling during the 2021 Australian Open - Australia Day Rescue Media Reports - IN Queensland - Read interview,  ABC Report - Listen to Interview,
2022 - 2024 - Kyal was Vice Club Captain for Tallebudgera Surf Lifesaving Club.
